Getting to Ouagadougou
By plane
Ouagadougou International Airport serves several international destinations with direct flights from Paris, Casablanca, Abidjan, Dakar, Bamako, Niamey and other African capitals.
Main airlines: Air Burkina, Air France, Royal Air Maroc, Ethiopian Airlines, Air Côte d'Ivoire.
By road
Road links exist with neighboring countries (Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Togo). Transport companies offer regular services.
Main bus stations: Ouagarinter, Tampouy, Ouaga 2000.
Entry formalities
To enter Burkina Faso, a valid passport and a visa are generally required for non-ECOWAS nationals. Check entry requirements with the Burkina Faso embassy or consulate in your country.
Getting around Ouagadougou
Cabs
Green cabs are available throughout the city. It is advisable to negotiate the fare before getting in. VTC applications are also available.
Motorcycle cabs
An economical option for getting around town quickly. Be sure to wear a helmet.
Car rental
There are several car rental agencies at the airport and in town. An international driving license is recommended.
Public transport
Minibuses and buses operate on the city's main roads.
